Overview
We are seeking a proactive and customer-focused Part-Time Event Venue Support Staff member to join our team. This role provides essential on-site assistance during events, ensuring a smooth, safe, and memorable experience for clients and attendees. You will work closely with event managers, security, catering, and technical crew to support operations from setup to breakdown. This position offers flexible hours aligned with our event calendar.
Key Responsibilities
Event setup and teardown, Coordinate with events team to determine layout and equipment needs. Assist with stage, seating, lighting, audio-visual, and decor setup. Help with loading/unloading of equipment and supplies; ensure proper handling to prevent damage.
Guest and client support
Greet guests, answer questions, and provide directions within the venue. Assist clients with last-minute requests, changes, or special accommodations. Manage check-in/registration areas if required.
Operations and safety
Observe venue safety policies; report hazards or incidents to supervisors. Support security and staff during emergency procedures and evacuations.
Vendor and staff coordination
Liaise with catering, contractors, and external vendors to adhere to timelines. Ensure adherence to event schedules and communicate changes promptly. Ensure restrooms, concourses, and common areas are clean and well-stocked. Monitor cleanliness and presentation of all event spaces. Collect feedback from clients and attendees for post-event improvement.
Administrative support
Maintain event documentation, room layouts, floor plans, and checklists. Track equipment inventory and report discrepancies to the supervisor. Assist with post-event wrap-up, including breakdown, packing, and secure storage.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; additional hospitality or events training preferred. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and varying shifts based on events. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; professional demeanor. Strong problem-solving abilities and ability to think quickly under pressure. Basic physical stamina: able to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and assist with loading/unloading as needed. Customer-service orientation with a proactive, can-do attitude. Ability to follow instructions, safety protocols, and venue policies.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience in event operations, stage crew, or venue management. Basic knowledge of audio-visual equipment, lighting, and sound systems. First Aid/CPR certification or willingness to obtain. Multilingual abilities to assist diverse guests.
