Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Full-time Waterjet Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be proficient in operating OMAX waterjet cutting systems, including set-up and programming. This position plays a crucial role in our manufacturing process, ensuring the production of high-quality components that meet our clients' exacting specifications.

Key Responsibilities

Operate and maintain OMAX waterjet cutting machines to produce precision parts according to engineering drawings and specifications
Set up and program waterjet cutting machines for various cutting operations, including complex geometries and multi-layer materials
Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders to determine cutting requirements and machine settings
Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on waterjet cutting equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime
Monitor cutting processes and make necessary adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency
Inspect finished parts for accuracy and quality, using precision measuring instruments
Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety protocols and procedures
Collaborate with engineering and quality control teams to improve processes and resolve technical issues
Train and mentor junior operators on proper machine operation and safety procedures
Maintain accurate records of production activities, material usage, and machine performance
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce waste
Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and quality management systems

Qualifications and Skills

High school diploma or equivalent; technical school certification in machining or related field preferred
Minimum of 2 years of experience operating waterjet cutting machines, preferably OMAX systems
Proficiency in OMAX software for machine programming and operation
Strong understanding of G-code programming and ability to create and modify programs as needed
Excellent knowledge of waterjet cutting principles, including abrasive types, pressures, and cutting speeds
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and engineering specifications
Proficient in using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and height gauges
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot machine issues
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods
Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional overtime and weekends as needed
