Job Description Role
Under the direct supervision of the Transportation Management Staff, the role of the Route Delivery Driver is to safely and efficiently deliver product to the customers of A&D Foods, Inc. The employee must have excellent customer service skills as this position is a focal point of communication between the company and our customers. This position requires strict adherence to all company safety initiatives, as well as courteous and lawful operation of company equipment at all times.
RESPONSIBILITIES The employee will perform a pre-trip inspection on vehicle as required by DOT each day the vehicle is in operation and record the inspection on appropriate form. Inspection forms are to be turned in at the end of all routes in the provided location. Any mechanical defect should be immediately reported to Transportation Management Staff.
- The employee will complete the Daily Delivery Manifest with estimated times of delivery for each customer and make a copy of the Manifest and place in provided location.
- The employee will visually verify the correct product is on the truck by comparing first invoice with product on truck.
- The employee will safely and efficiently complete the assigned route and immediately communicate any delays or missed deliveries to Transportation Management Staff.
- The employee will immediately communicate any discrepancies to Transportation Management Staff and note any shortages, returns, or pick-ups on the return sheet.
- The employee will collect and safeguard payments either cash or check from customer as required.
- The employee will make deposits of cash payments when necessary and feasible.
- The employee will complete assigned backhauls as required, this includes verifying by visual count all items picked up.
- The employee will participate in all assigned Safety and DOT Compliance training and attend all required meetings.
- The employee will record Hours of Service via ELD as required by DOT and have paper logs available if needed for ELD failure.
- The employee will refuel all equipment at the end of each work day.
- The employee will washout the cargo area of the vehicle at the end of each work day.
- The employee will remove all trash from the cab at the end of each work day.
- The employee will complete any additional projects and tasks assigned by Transportation Management Staff.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Must be at least 21 years old.
- Possess Class A-Driver's License.
- Ability to safely operate a Commercial Motor Vehicle.
- 2 years of verifiable experience in class
- Maintain a certified DOT Physical at all times.
Preferred Skills Regular and predictable attendance.

- Ability to safely enter/exit both the operator area and cargo area of each vehicle.
- Ability to move 50 lbs. frequently.
- Ability to move 100 lbs. occasionally.
- Ability to safely use hand truck.
- Ability to safely use pallet jack.
- Ability to safely operate a liftgate.
- Ability to safely work using a delivery ramp.
Additional Notes
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to stand, walk, sit repeatedly. The employee will be required to touch, handle, feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee must have good vision and hearing abilities, including depth perception, distance vision, and peripheral vison, with the ability to adjust focus as needed. Additionally, fleet safety is monitored via Driver Alert, ELD, and non-electronic observation.
