The Service Technician Helper assists the Service Technician in repairing, adjusting, maintaining, and servicing residential and commercial windows and doors. This position supports service calls by preparing materials, assisting with repairs, maintaining tools and equipment, and ensuring quality workmanship while providing excellent customer service.
- Assist the Service Technician with the inspection, repair, adjustment, and maintenance of windows, doors, hardware, and related products.
- Load, unload, and organize tools, equipment, and materials for daily service appointments.
- Help diagnose and resolve issues such as operational problems, weather sealing, hardware replacement, glass replacement, and minor adjustments.
- Maintain a clean and organized work vehicle and job site.
- Safely handle windows, doors, glass, and other building materials.
- Assist with measuring, installing, and replacing components as directed by the Service Technician.
- Communicate professionally with customers while on service calls.
- Follow all company safety policies and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Document completed work and assist with service reports when needed.
- Perform warehouse or shop duties as assigned when not in the field.
- Maintain company tools and report damaged or missing equipment.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous construction, window and door installation, handyman, maintenance, or service experience is preferred but not required.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record preferred.
- Basic knowledge of hand and power tools.
- Ability to follow instructions and learn technical repair procedures.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
- Frequent standing, bending, kneeling, climbing ladders, and working in various weather conditions.
- Ability to safely handle large windows, doors, and glass products.
- Ability to work both indoors and outdoors for extended periods.
