Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Dog Daycare Attendant/Kennel Attendant to join our team part time. In this role, you will be responsible for providing a safe, fun, and engaging environment for dogs in our care. You will interact with a variety of breeds and temperaments, ensuring their well-being while fostering positive social interactions. The ideal candidate will have a love for animals and experience in pet care.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and engage with dogs during playtime to ensure safety and proper behavior.
- Monitor the health and behavior of all dogs in the daycare, reporting any concerns to management.
- Maintain cleanliness of the daycare facility, including cleaning up after dogs and sanitizing play areas.
- Assist with feeding, administering medications, and send dogs home clean.
- Interact with pet owners to provide updates on their pets’ activities and well-being.
- Implement training techniques as necessary to promote good behavior among the dogs.
- Handle any emergencies or behavioral issues calmly and effectively.
Skills
- Experience in veterinary settings or as a veterinary assistant is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of dog handling techniques, including animal restraint and dog training methods.
- Previous experience in pet sitting or pet care services is a plus.
- Strong customer service skills to effectively communicate with pet owners.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary, such as moving large dog crates or supplies. Must be able to lift 50+lbs
- A genuine love for animals and a commitment to their care and safety.
- Excellent observational skills to identify changes in behavior or health among the dogs.
- The ability to work independently and as a team.
- Maintaining a clean work space.
