Job Description:
As a Tire Technician at R & J Trucking, you will be responsible for tracking tire inventory, dismounting and mounting tires, and going on road calls. Your role is crucial in keeping our tire program in top condition, minimizing downtime, and ensuring the safe and reliable service to our customers.
Tire Technician Schedule:
- Monday-Friday: 7:00 A.M.-3:00 P.M.
Tire Technician Responsibilities:
- Dismount and mount tires, clean rims
- Torque wheel lug nuts.
- Communicate potential issues with equipment to other departments
- Track tire inventory
- Perform yard checks for damaged or worn-out tires
- Handle road callouts

Tire Technician Qualifications:
- Valid driver’s license
- 1+ years of experience as a Tire Technician in the trucking industry is preferred.
- 3+ years of experience is a plus.
- 5+ years of experience is a bonus.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in a diesel/tire program is a plus
- Knowledge of diesel engines, their components, and systems is a plus.
- Ability to operate tire inflation system diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
