Overview
Construction company seeking a skilled and dedicated Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical knowledge and experience with various types of equipment repair, including construction heavy equipment, hydraulic systems and diesel. This role involves diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and ensuring that all machinery operates efficiently and safely. A successful Mechanic will demonstrate proficiency in diesel engine repair, electrical systems, and the ability to fabricate and align components as needed.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose mechanical issues in vehicles and equipment to determine necessary repairs.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks.
- Repair diesel engines and other mechanical systems with precision and attention to detail.
- Fabricate parts or components as required for repairs or modifications.
- Conduct thorough inspections of machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety standards are met.
- Collaborate with team members associated with equipment repair and maintenance.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
Qualifications
- 6+ years experience.
- Proven experience as a Mechanic or in a similar role within the automotive or heavy machinery industry.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in equipment repair and maintenance.
- Familiarity with electrical systems related to vehicles or heavy equipment is preferred.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and work in physically demanding conditions.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- A valid driver's license is required; additional certifications related to mechanics are a plus.
- Must be able to pass a background and drug test.
- Some weekend availability may be needed.
