Position Summary
The Quality Assurance & Quality Control Specialist is responsible for ensuring that all products consistently meet company quality standards, regulatory requirements, retailer compliance expectations, and customer satisfaction goals. This role serves as the primary liaison between internal teams, manufacturing partners, third-party laboratories, inspection agencies, and retail customers to maintain compliance and drive continuous quality improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Regulatory Compliance & Quality Assurance
· Ensure compliance with applicable local, state, and federal regulations governing consumer-packaged goods, including OTC products, medical devices, and cosmetics.
· Review and verify product formulations, labeling, packaging, and marketing claims for regulatory compliance.
· Monitor regulatory changes and update quality processes, procedures, and documentation accordingly.
· Support FDA registrations, regulatory submissions, retailer compliance requirements, and customer audits.
· Coordinate third-party laboratory testing programs and evaluate test reports to ensure compliance with product specifications, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations.
Supplier Quality Management & Auditing
· Conduct supplier qualification, onboarding, and ongoing performance evaluations.
· Coordinate and oversee supplier audits, GMP audits, social compliance audits, and quality assessments.
· Review audit findings and ensure timely implementation of corrective action plans.
· Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturers to resolve quality, compliance, and production issues.
· Monitor supplier performance metrics and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
· Manage relationships with third-party inspection agencies and quality service providers globally.
Project Management & Cross-Functional Coordination
· Manage quality and compliance activities associated with new product launches and ongoing product programs.
· Coordinate cross-functional efforts among Product Development, Operations, Purchasing, Sales, Customer Service, Suppliers, and Laboratories.
· Prioritize projects based on business impact, compliance risk, customer requirements, and launch timelines.
· Identify potential risks proactively and implement solutions to prevent delays or compliance issues.
· Provide regular project updates and quality performance reports to management.
Product Quality Control & Inspection Management
· Review inspection reports from internal quality teams, manufacturing partners, and third-party inspection agencies.
· Evaluate inspection findings, identify quality risks, and recommend corrective actions.
· Coordinate pre-production, in-process, and final product inspections to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards.
· Inspect and evaluate product samples for functionality, safety, packaging, labeling accuracy, and overall product quality.
· Support new product development and launch activities by establishing and communicating quality requirements.
· Partner with sourcing, purchasing teams, and manufacturers teams to improve product quality and production consistency.
Customer Complaint & Continuous Improvement Management
· Investigate customer complaints related to product quality, packaging, defects, safety, and performance.
· Coordinate root-cause investigations with suppliers, manufacturers, and internal stakeholders.
· Develop and implement corrective and preventive action plans to address recurring issues.
· Analyze complaint trends and quality data to identify opportunities for improvement.
· Prepare investigation reports, quality summaries, and management updates.
Documentation & Retailer Compliance
· Prepare, review, and maintain product compliance documentation for private-label and controlled-brand programs.
· Maintain organized records including audit reports, inspection reports, testing documentation, supplier files, complaint investigations, CAPA records, and regulatory submissions.
· Ensure documentation is accurate, complete, and audit-ready at all times.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in quality assurance, Regulatory Affairs, Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing, or a related field.
Experience
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Regulatory Compliance, or Supplier Quality Management within CPG, cosmetics, OTC, medical device, or related industries.
Technical & Soft Skills
- Strong knowledge of GMP, FDA regulations, ISO 9001, ISO 13485, CAPA, supplier quality systems, and auditing standards.
- Experience with product inspections, laboratory testing, root-cause analysis, and corrective action management.
- Familiarity with retailer compliance requirements and private-label product programs.
- Experience managing third-party inspection agencies and laboratory service providers.
- Bilingual English/Mandarin is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with project management and quality management software such as Monday.com is a plus.
- Exceptional organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Pay: $31.00 - $35.00 per hour
