Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Maintenance Technician to join our team and ensure the optimal operation of our facilities. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the overall upkeep, repair, and maintenance of residential properties within the company’s portfolio. This role ensures that all units, common areas, and building systems are safe, functional, and well-maintained, contributing to resident satisfaction and property value.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on apartments, buildings, and grounds
- Respond promptly to resident service requests and work orders
- Troubleshoot and repair plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and appliance issues
- Conduct preventative maintenance to minimize downtime and costly repairs
- Prepare vacant units for new residents (turnovers/make-readies)
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance areas and tools
- Assist with inspections to ensure compliance with safety and housing regulations (including HUD, LIHTC, or Section 8 if applicable)
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors as needed
- Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours emergency maintenance
Qualifications
- Prior maintenance experience, preferably in property management or apartment communities
- General knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and appliance repair
- Ability to diagnose and resolve maintenance issues efficiently
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (if travel between properties is required)
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and climbing stairs/ladders
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions
- Use of maintenance tools and equipment (hand tools, power tools, etc.)
