The Treatment Nurse / Infection Control Nurse serves as the clinical leader for wound care, skin integrity, infection prevention, and treatment services throughout the facility. This position coordinates the wound care program, promotes evidence-based clinical practices, monitors infection prevention efforts, and partners with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to achieve outstanding resident outcomes.
Coordinate and oversee the facility's wound care and skin management program
Perform comprehensive skin assessments and wound evaluations
Complete wound measurements, documentation, and ongoing monitoring
Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized wound treatment plans
Lead weekly wound rounds with the interdisciplinary team
Ensure physician orders for treatments are accurate and implemented promptly
Monitor residents at risk for pressure injuries and implement prevention strategies
Educate nursing staff on wound care, pressure injury prevention, and treatment protocols
Maintain accurate clinical documentation in accordance with state and federal regulations
Track wound healing progress and quality indicators
Coordinate infection prevention and infection control activities throughout the facility
Monitor healthcare-associated infections and assist with surveillance reporting
Educate staff on infection prevention practices, isolation precautions, hand hygiene, and regulatory compliance
Participate in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives
Collaborate with physicians, therapy, dietary, and nursing staff to improve resident outcomes
Ensure compliance with CMS, state, and company standards
Current Missouri RN or LPN license in good standing
Experience in skilled nursing, rehabilitation, long-term care, or post-acute care preferred
Previous wound care, treatment nurse, infection control, or skin management experience preferred
Wound Care Certification (WCC) is preferred but not required
Knowledge of pressure injury prevention and evidence-based wound care practices
Strong assessment, documentation, and communication skills
Excellent organizational and leadership abilities
