What You’ll Do
- Provide direct patient care to adults and geriatric patients with acute leukemia and hematology needs
- Monitor patient status via telemetry and interpret dysrhythmias
- Administer medications, blood products, and IV therapy
- Care for and manage central and peripheral lines, including PICC lines and feeding tubes
- Assist with rapid response teams and emergency protocols
- Follow strict infection prevention and falls prevention protocols
- Document patient information accurately using EPIC or similar electronic health records
What You Need
- Active Ohio RN license and BLS/ACLS certifications
- Minimum 2 years of relevant nursing experience in a hospital setting
- Proficiency in MS/Tele, telemetry monitoring, and IV therapy
- Strong assessment and patient care skills with a focus on safety and infection control
About the Assignment
This assignment is at a leading facility in Columbus, Ohio, specializing in hematology and oncology care. The unit focuses on newly diagnosed acute leukemia patients, with staffing goals of 1:4 or 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratios. You will receive comprehensive orientation, first week Monday–Friday days, followed by two weeks of preceptor-supported night shifts, with schedule adjustments based on unit needs.
