Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Part Time Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Driver to join our transportation team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating various types of trucks to deliver freight efficiently and on schedule. This role requires a focus on safety, adherence to regulations, and excellent driving skills. The CDL Driver will play a vital role in ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining the highest safety standards.
Duties
- Safely operate commercial trucks across designated routes, including local and long-distance deliveries
- Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts ensuring proper handling and securing of cargo
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with DOT regulations
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, route documentation, and delivery records
- Follow all traffic laws and company policies to ensure safe driving practices at all times
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding delivery schedules, route changes, or issues encountered during transit
- Assist in route planning to optimize delivery efficiency and fuel consumption
- Available to work Monday-Saturday. Sundays occasionally.
Skills
- Valid CDL B license with appropriate endorsements for different truck types (manual transmission experience preferred)
- Proven experience in commercial driving, including freight delivery and route driving
- Familiarity with operating refrigerated trucks
- Ability to load & unload freight safely using forklifts or other equipment as needed
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards for commercial drivers
- Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record
- Ability to handle physically demanding tasks such as lifting cargo or securing loads
- Good communication skills for effective coordination with dispatch and clients
- Experience with truck driving in various environments and weather conditions is a plus
- At Least 2 Years of Experience as a CDL driver highly preferred
- Ability to pass DOT physical, drug screening, and background check
