ProActive Home Maintenance helps homeowners prevent small maintenance issues from turning into expensive problems.
We specialize in proactive home maintenance services including sprinkler repair and maintenance, dryer vent cleaning, gutter cleaning, AC condenser cleaning, and seasonal sprinkler services. We are growing quickly and are looking for hardworking, dependable Field Technicians who want to build valuable skills and grow with the company.
The Opportunity
As a Field Technician, you will visit residential homes throughout Northern Utah and perform a variety of home maintenance services.
No previous experience is required. We are willing to train the right person. What matters most is that you are dependable, willing to work hard, comfortable working outdoors, and able to communicate professionally with homeowners.
This position is a great opportunity for someone who wants to learn the home-service industry, develop technical and customer-service skills, and earn more as their performance improves.
What You'll DoPerform Home Maintenance Services
- Diagnose and repair residential sprinkler systems
- Perform sprinkler system startups and tune-ups
- Perform sprinkler system winterizations
- Clean residential dryer vents
- Clean residential gutters
- Clean AC condenser units
- Perform other basic home maintenance services as the company grows
- Follow company procedures and safety standards
- Complete work efficiently while maintaining a high standard of quality
Take a Proactive Approach
Our goal isn't simply to fix what is broken today. We want to help homeowners identify problems before they become expensive repairs.
Technicians are expected to:
- Inspect systems while performing service
- Identify potential problems and maintenance needs
- Clearly explain findings to homeowners
- Recommend appropriate repairs or preventative maintenance
- Take accurate before-and-after photos
- Document completed work and any issues discovered
Provide Excellent Customer Service
You will represent ProActive Home Maintenance in our customers' homes, so professionalism and communication are critical.
You will:
- Communicate clearly and respectfully with homeowners
- Explain work performed in a way customers can easily understand
- Answer basic customer questions
- Build trust with customers
- Maintain a clean and professional appearance
- Leave each work area cleaner than you found it
- Create a positive experience that makes customers want to use ProActive Home Maintenance again
Grow Customer Relationships
Technicians will also have the opportunity to recommend and sell our ProActive Shield Membership, which provides homeowners with ongoing preventative maintenance throughout the year.
You will learn how to:
- Identify customers who would benefit from a maintenance membership
- Explain the value of proactive maintenance
- Present the ProActive Shield Membership to homeowners
- Identify additional services or repairs that can prevent future problems
We don't want pushy salespeople. We want technicians who genuinely look for ways to help homeowners protect their homes.

- Comfortable working outside in hot, cold, wet, and other challenging weather conditions
- Physically capable of performing demanding work throughout the day
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to work independently after training

- Professional and respectful when working in customers' homes
Experience Is NOT Required
You do not need previous sprinkler, HVAC, gutter, dryer vent, or home-service experience.
We can teach technical skills.
What we can't teach is work ethic, reliability, attitude, and the desire to take care of customers.

Compensation & Growth
Starting Pay: $18–$20/hour
Technicians who demonstrate strong performance will have the opportunity to progress to $20–$30/hour.
Pay increases are based on factors such as:
- Quality of work
- Productivity and efficiency
- Reliability and attendance
- Customer service
- Ability to work independently
- Proper documentation and before/after photos
- Identifying legitimate repair and maintenance opportunities
- ProActive Shield Membership sales
- Overall contribution to the team

What Success Looks Like
A successful ProActive Home Maintenance Field Technician doesn't just show up, complete the job, and leave.

You should leave every property knowing that you helped the homeowner understand their home better and prevented future problems whenever possible.
Physical Requirements
This is an active, physical position.
You should be comfortable with:
- Working outdoors for extended periods
- Working in hot and cold weather
- Standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and crouching
- Lifting and carrying equipment and materials
- Working on ladders when required
- Performing repetitive physical tasks
- Working around water, dirt, dust, and other outdoor conditions
