Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Duct Installer to join our dynamic team! In this vital role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining ductwork systems that ensure optimal airflow and energy efficiency across commercial and residential properties. Duties
- Install, modify, and repair ductwork systems according to schematics, blueprints, and HVAC design plans.
- Use hand tools, welding equipment, and other mechanical tools to assemble and secure duct components accurately.
- Troubleshoot HVAC system issues by diagnosing electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration problems using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters.
- Perform routine maintenance on HVAC systems, including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and building automation systems.
- Collaborate with service technicians and other trades to ensure seamless integration of ductwork with electrical and plumbing systems.
- Conduct inspections of installed ductwork for leaks, blockages, or damage; perform necessary repairs or replacements promptly.
- Maintain detailed documentation of work performed, including schematics interpretation, repair logs, and compliance records.
Requirements
- Proven construction experience with a focus on HVAC or mechanical systems installation.
- Service technician experience in HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning / Refrigeration) preferred.
- Strong understanding of schematics, blueprints, and HVAC design principles.
- Knowledge of electrical diagnostics and troubleshooting of electrical systems related to HVAC equipment.
- Hands-on experience with equipment troubleshooting including refrigeration units, boilers, ammonia refrigeration systems, and building automation controls.
- Mechanical knowledge related to HVAC system repair, installation, and maintenance; familiarity with plumbing is a plus.
- Ability to operate hand tools safely and efficiently; welding skills are advantageous.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; <PERSON> driver certification preferred.
- EPA certification required for handling refrigerants; additional certifications in electrical systems or appliance repair are beneficial.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients.
- Physical ability to lift heavy equipment, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces as needed.
