Assistant Fire Alarm Inspector (Entry-Level, Growth Opportunity)
Affiliated is seeking a motivated Assistant Fire Alarm Inspector to join our team. This is an entry-level position with on-the-job training and opportunities for advancement within our commercial fire alarm company.
We are looking for a responsible, professional, and courteous individual with a strong work ethic and a desire to grow in the field. The selected candidate will work alongside a Lead Fire Alarm Inspector, assisting in the testing and inspection of conventional and computer-based fire alarm systems across Chicagoland. Our clients include hospitals, high-rises, hotels, office buildings, colleges, and school districts.
Outstanding performers in this role will have the opportunity to advance to a Lead Inspector position, which includes a company vehicle with all expenses paid. Overtime opportunities are available, paid at time and a half for hours exceeding 40 per week.

Responsibilities:
- Inspect and test fire alarm systems and field devices electronically connected to ensure safety and compliance with industry standards and regulations
- Utilize mechanical knowledge and hand tools to perform comprehensive tests and inspections, eventually learning to conduct repairs on low-voltage systems
- Read and interpret schematics and blueprints to assess system design and functionality
- Maintain accurate records of inspections and repairs
- Stay updated on industry standards and certifications including National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET)
- Communicate effectively with clients regarding alarm system performance and service needs
Job Requirements:
- Ability to read, comprehend, and follow written instructions
- Ability to complete paperwork neatly and accurately
- Ability to lift and carry equipment/tools up to 75 lbs
- Comfortable working on ladders and occasional lifts
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Flexible work hours, including overtime and occasional weekends
- Punctuality is essential for all appointments
- Eligibility to obtain a PERC (Permanent Employee Registration Card)
- Reliable transportation until promotion to Lead Inspector (at which point a company vehicle will be provided)
