Position Title: Cabinet Master Builder
Department: Production / Custom Cabinet Manufacturing
Reports To: Shop Manager / Production Manager
The Cabinet Master Builder is responsible for building complete custom cabinetry and millwork projects from architectural drawings, shop drawings, and production plans. This individual must be able to independently interpret plans, identify potential issues before production, troubleshoot problems during the build process, and ensure all cabinetry meets company quality standards.
This position requires a highly skilled craftsman who takes ownership of a project from raw materials through final assembly, while maintaining excellent communication with designers, project managers, CNC operators, finishers, and installers.

Read and fully understand architectural plans, elevations, shop drawings, and production documents.

Review project details before production begins to identify missing information, conflicts, or potential issues.

Interpret dimensions, materials, hardware specifications, moldings, fillers, and installation requirements.

Verify all components are correct before beginning construction.

Communicate any drawing discrepancies or concerns to management before proceeding.

Build complete kitchens, bathrooms, closets, pantries, built-ins, and custom millwork according to plans.

Assemble cabinet boxes, face frames, doors, drawer systems, and specialty components.

Maintain tight tolerances and high-end craftsmanship standards.

Ensure all assemblies are square, level, structurally sound, and production-ready.

Construct custom one-off pieces requiring advanced problem-solving and craftsmanship.

Identify and resolve construction issues before they impact production schedules.

Develop solutions for plan conflicts, material challenges, hardware concerns, or field condition changes.

Make informed decisions while maintaining design intent and company standards.

Communicate challenges and proposed solutions to management promptly.

Assist installers and field personnel with technical solutions when required.

Inspect all work for accuracy before passing projects to the next department.

Verify dimensions, reveals, hardware locations, and assembly quality.

Ensure finished products meet company standards for appearance and function.

Take ownership of quality and correct deficiencies before project completion.

Work closely with CNC operators, designers, finishers, project managers, and installers.

Clearly communicate material needs, missing parts, or production concerns.

Help train and mentor less experienced builders.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

Properly use and maintain tools and equipment.

Extensive experience in custom cabinet and millwork construction.
