About the Role
The Tabor Hill Vineyard Lounge Bartender plays a key role in creating an exceptional guest experience. This position combines hospitality, wine education, and retail sales. The ideal candidate is friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about wine, with a strong desire to connect with guests and guide them through memorable tasting experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome guests and provide warm, professional service
- Lead wine tastings and explain flavor profiles, regions, and production methods
- Pour wine tastings and by-the-glass service following responsible alcohol service guidelines
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar, glassware, and tasting areas
- Assist customers with wine purchases, gifts, and special orders
- Operate POS system and accurately process transactions
- Restock wine inventory, retail shelves, and bar supplies
- Promote wine club memberships, special events, and current promotions
- Assist with setup and breakdown of events and private tastings
Wine Knowledge & Education
- Maintain knowledge of wine varietals, regions, and tasting techniques
- Participate in training and ongoing wine education opportunities
- Communicate wine stories in an engaging and approachable manner
Qualifications
Required:
- Previous experience in hospitality, bartending, retail, or tasting rooms
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Must be of legal age to serve alcohol
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40–50 lbs
Preferred:
- Point-of-sale (POS) experience
- Passion for wine and guest education
