Position Summary
JRock Construction is seeking an experienced Commercial Concrete Project Manager to oversee concrete projects from kick-off through completion. This role is responsible for managing scope, schedules, budgets, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal field teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
The ideal candidate has strong commercial concrete experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to lead projects in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management
- Manage commercial concrete projects including foundations, structural concrete, post-tension slabs, and tilt-up.
- Oversee projects from contract award through close-out.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and cost tracking.
- Review contracts, plans, and specifications to confirm scope and requirements.
Coordination & Communication
- Serve as the primary point of contact for general contractors, owners, engineers, and inspectors.
- Lead project kickoff meetings and ongoing coordination meetings, 3-Week look aheads.
- Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and pay applications.
- Maintain clear communication with superintendents and field crews.
Financial Management
- Prepare job budgets and cost forecasts, ETC.
- Track labor productivity, materials, and equipment costs.
- Approve vendor and subcontractor invoices.
- Identify and mitigate cost overruns or schedule risks.
Field & Quality Oversight
- Coordinate with superintendents on crew scheduling, sequencing, and logistics.
- Ensure all work meets project specifications, ACI standards, and JRock quality expectations.
- Enforce company safety policies and OSHA compliance.
- Coordinate inspections, testing, and quality control measures.
Project Close-Out
- Manage punch lists and final inspections.
- Ensure all close-out documentation is completed and submitted.
- Support successful turnover to the client.
Qualifications
Required
- 5+ years of experience in commercial concrete construction.
- Proven experience as a Project Manager.
- Strong understanding of concrete construction methods and sequencing.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Proficiency with construction management software like Fieldwire (Procore, Bluebeam, MS Excel, scheduling tools).
Preferred
- Experience with structural concrete, post-tension and tilt-up concrete projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Knowledge of Utah construction practices and local building codes.
Physical & Work Requirements
- Ability to visit active job sites and work in outdoor conditions.
- Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites throughout Utah.
