Duties
- Safely operate school transportation vehicles, adhering strictly to all safety regulations and traffic laws.
- Assist students with disabilities or special needs during boarding, riding, and disembarking to ensure their safety and comfort.
- Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive conduct and resolve conflicts calmly and effectively.
- Communicate regularly with parents, school staff, and special education teams regarding student needs and transportation updates.
- Enforce school policies and procedures related to student safety, discipline, and emergency protocols.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections before each route to ensure proper functioning of safety equipment and cleanliness.
- Support evacuation procedures during emergencies, ensuring all students are accounted for and safely evacuated if necessary.
Experience
- Prior experience working with children or students with disabilities is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques tailored for students with special education needs.
- Certification in First Aid and CPR is required; ongoing training in emergency response is a plus.
- Familiarity with school policies, safety regulations, and transportation safety standards related to early childhood education is essential.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with students, parents, school staff, and emergency responders.
- Experience handling confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Ability to manage conflicts calmly while maintaining a positive environment for all students.
