Soft Skills That Matter
People Skills:
People skills keep systems (and teams) running smoothly. The best fit for this position will know how to stay cool under pressure and support frustrated users with empathy. Not just just fix problems — they shall make the process less painful for everyone involved.
Radical Adaptability:
The qualified candidate should be able to pivot quickly and recognize what they don’t know. They don’t cling to a dying platform or blame “bad users.” Instead, they adapt tools, workflows, and mindsets to meet new demands
Constructive Failure:
Failure is where the ideal candidate will level up. Every outage, misconfigured backup, or accidental reboot becomes a lesson. The best admins don’t hide mistakes — they document them, fix the root cause, and share what they’ve learned.
Physical requirements:
While performing the duties of this role, the employee may work in various environments, including offices, classrooms, and certified group homes. This role may involve exposure to individuals who exhibit aggressive, destructive, or attention-seeking behaviors. Most work is performed in climate-controlled settings. Occasional travel to alternate locations may be required. Noise levels are generally moderate.
DEI Values Statement:
Mary Cariola Center recognized that a high performing organization is one that cultivates a culture where everyone feels like they belong. Through continued dialogue, education, a policy development, we are committed to integrating Diversity, Equity, Access and Inclusion into all aspects of our work. As an agency found on principles of inclusion, Mary Cariola Center fosters an environment where all are welcome, and our differences are respected and valued.
