Morning Route: Approximately 7:00 AM – 9:30 AM
Afternoon Route: Approximately 2:30 PM – 4:30 PM
Hours may vary slightly based on traffic, weather conditions, participant needs, and route assignments.
Position Summary
Helpin Hands LLC is seeking a reliable and compassionate Non-Medical Transportation (NMT) Driver to provide transportation services for individuals attending our Adult Day Support Program. This position is ideal for someone looking for a part-time split-shift schedule and enjoys working with individuals with developmental disabilities and other special needs.
The NMT Driver is responsible for safely transporting participants to and from the day program while ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being throughout the transportation process.
Drivers will operate company-owned vehicles. No personal vehicle is required for transporting participants.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate company-owned vans and transport participants to and from the Adult Day Program.
- Follow assigned routes and schedules.
- Assist participants with entering and exiting the vehicle as needed.
- Secure wheelchairs and mobility devices when applicable.
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections before and after routes.
- Maintain transportation logs and required documentation.
- Report accidents, incidents, vehicle concerns, or participant issues immediately.
- Ensure all passengers are transported safely and in accordance with agency policies and procedures.
- Maintain a clean and professional vehicle environment.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, families, and program staff.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to pass all required background checks and drug screening.
- Ability to safely assist individuals with mobility needs.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Dependable attendance and punctuality are required.
- Must be comfortable driving passenger vans in various weather and traffic conditions.
Preferred Experience
- Experience transporting individuals with developmental disabilities, seniors, or individuals with special needs.
- Previous driving, transportation, DSP, healthcare, or customer service experience.
- Experience operating passenger vans is a plus.

Applicants must possess a valid driver's license, maintain a clean driving record, and successfully complete all pre-employment requirements. Company vehicles are provided for all transportation services.
Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
