Job Title: Veterinary Assistant
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Veterinary Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and general animal anatomy. As a Veterinary Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting veterinarians in providing quality care to our animal patients.
Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, and surgeries
- Perform animal catheterization procedures under supervision
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic and treatment areas
- Utilize aseptic techniques to ensure a sterile environment
- Handle and restrain animals during procedures with care and compassion
- Provide basic pet care including feeding, grooming, and exercise
- Assist with animal husbandry tasks such as feeding, watering, and monitoring health
- Support in dog handling for grooming or medical procedures
- Monitor and record vital signs of animals under treatment
- Ensure the well-being and comfort of animals in the clinic
-No weekend duties!
Experience:
- Prior experience as a Veterinary Assistant is preferred
- Familiarity with general veterinary practices and procedures
- Strong passion for animal care and welfare
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills with both team members and pet owners
- Certification as a Veterinary Assistant is a plus
