Starting Salary: $72,000 per year, with the opportunity to grow alongside BAR through future performance bonuses, health insurance, retirement cost-sharing, and expanded benefits as the organization continues to scale.

About BAR
Biotech Applied Research (BAR) is building Florida's first commercial-scale mobile biomass-to-biochar operation. Our team mobilizes heavy equipment directly to land-clearing, forestry, and agricultural projects, converting woody biomass into high-quality biochar on-site. This is an opportunity to help build an entirely new industry while improving soil health, water quality, wildfire resilience, and rural economies throughout Florida.
Position Summary
BAR is seeking a hardworking, experienced Production Foreman to lead daily biomass-to-biochar operations. This individual will supervise field crews, maintain high production standards, ensure equipment accountability, and help develop the operational systems that will define BAR's future.
The ideal candidate is a team player who leads by example, is coachable, willing to learn, accepts constructive feedback, and takes pride in developing people, protecting equipment, and producing quality work.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead daily biomass-to-biochar production operations and field crews.
- Hold Tigercat operators and equipment operators accountable for inspections, servicing, greasing, cleaning, and preventative maintenance.
- Coordinate production activities to maximize safety, efficiency, and uptime.
- Maintain accurate daily production logs, equipment hours, downtime, fuel usage, and biochar production records for inventory and carbon credit accounting.
- Identify equipment issues early and coordinate repairs before failures occur.
- Enforce BAR safety policies, operational procedures, and quality standards.
- Train, mentor, and develop new operators while promoting teamwork and professionalism.
- Communicate daily with leadership regarding production, maintenance, staffing, and operational needs.
Qualifications
- Minimum five (5) years of experience in heavy equipment, forestry, agriculture, biomass processing, land clearing, or related industries.
- Previous experience leading crews and managing field operations.
- Strong understanding of preventative equipment maintenance and production scheduling.
- Ability to work outdoors in Florida conditions and travel to project sites throughout Central Florida.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Valid driver's license required.
Preferred Experience: Tigercat equipment, biochar production, forestry operations, excavators, loaders, skid steers, tractors, agricultural production, or mechanical troubleshooting.
