We are seeking a creative and experienced Video Editor and Content Creator to edit and produce polished, professional video content for Neely Media interviews and other media projects.
Position Overview
The ideal candidate has a strong background in video editing, content creation, and videography. Candidates should also have experience creating short-form social media content and at least some exposure to film, short-film, documentary, or movie production.
This role requires someone who understands how to take raw interview footage and transform it into compelling, well-paced stories for YouTube, websites, social media, and other digital platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Edit full-length interviews, business features, community stories, and promotional videos.
- Review raw footage and identify the strongest moments, quotes, and storylines.
- Edit multicamera interview footage and synchronize video and audio.
- Improve audio quality, balance sound levels, and reduce background noise when necessary.
- Perform professional color correction and basic color grading.
- Add titles, captions, lower thirds, graphics, music, transitions, and branding elements.
- Reformat content for horizontal, vertical, and square platforms.
- Organize video files, project folders, footage, and completed deliverables.
- Collaborate with the Neely Media team to maintain consistent branding and storytelling.
- Complete projects according to established deadlines and production schedules.
- Recommend creative approaches that improve audience engagement and overall production quality.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in professional video editing and digital content creation.
- Strong videography skills, including knowledge of camera composition, lighting, framing, and audio recording.
- Experience editing interviews, podcasts, documentaries, business features, or similar content.
- Experience producing short-form social media videos.
- At least some experience with short films, independent films, documentaries, television, or movie production.
- Proficiency with professional editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, or comparable software.
- Understanding of storytelling, pacing, sound design, color correction, and visual continuity.
- Ability to edit both long-form and short-form content.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to accept feedback and complete revisions professionally.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience operating professional cameras, lighting equipment, microphones, and other production equipment.
- Experience editing multicamera interviews or video podcasts.
- Knowledge of Adobe After Effects, motion graphics, or animation.
- Experience creating captions and graphics optimized for social media.
- Familiarity with YouTube content, audience retention, thumbnails, and digital storytelling.
- Experience covering community events, businesses, nonprofit organizations, or local news.
- An understanding of cinematic production workflows and film-production environments.
Compensation
Compensation will be based on experience, portfolio quality, availability, and the scope of each project.
