Voltage is seeking a Freight & Logistics Specialist to manage domestic and international freight operations while partnering with ocean carriers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and third-party logistics providers (3PLs). What You'll Do
You'll be responsible for coordinating transportation from supplier to customer while supporting both domestic and international logistics operations.
Daily Responsibilities
- Coordinate domestic and international shipments via ocean, truck, rail, air, and parcel carriers.
- Manage inbound and outbound ocean freight and container movements.
- Work directly with freight forwarders, customs brokers, steamship lines, carriers, and 3PL providers.
- Schedule shipments while ensuring on-time pickup and delivery.
- Monitor shipments from origin through final destination.
- Resolve transportation delays, freight claims, damaged shipments, and service issues.
- Review freight invoices for accuracy and approve transportation costs.
- Negotiate transportation rates and support carrier selection.
- Coordinate import/export documentation including:
- Commercial Invoices
- Packing Lists
- Bills of Lading
- Certificates of Origin
- Shipping Instructions
- Ensure compliance with import/export regulations and customs requirements.
- Maintain shipment visibility using ERP and transportation systems.
- Analyze freight spend and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Track transportation KPIs including on-time delivery, freight costs, carrier performance, and transit times.
- Build strong partnerships with suppliers, warehouses, production teams, freight forwarders, and logistics providers.
What We're Looking For
Required
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field.
- 3+ years of transportation or logistics experience.
- Experience coordinating both domestic and international shipments.
- Experience with:
- Ocean freight
- Domestic LTL/FTL transportation
- Import/Export logistics
- Freight forwarding
- Third-Party Logistics Providers (3PLs)
- Experience working with freight carriers and transportation vendors.
- Strong Excel and ERP skills.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.

Education:

Experience:
- Ocean freight imports and exports: 3 years (Preferred)
- Freight forwarders: 3 years (Preferred)
- Transportation Management Systems (TMS): 3 years (Preferred)
- Third-Party Logistics (3PL): 3 years (Preferred)
