Position Available: Produce Technician
Job Summary: The Produce Technician is responsible for supporting retail produce operations throughout the Greater Houston area and surrounding markets. This field-based role partners with Produce Department Managers and store teams to ensure merchandising standards are consistently executed while delivering exceptional service to ArchPoint Sales clients.
This position requires frequent travel to assigned retail locations throughout the territory. Candidates must maintain a valid driver's license, an acceptable driving record, reliable personal transportation, and the auto insurance required by state law. The ideal candidate is organized, self-motivated, customer-focused, and comfortable working independently with early morning start times as business needs require.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Represent ArchPoint Sales and its clients professionally while building strong relationships with retail partners.
- Travel throughout the assigned Houston territory to complete scheduled store visits.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with Produce Department Managers and store associates.
- Conduct store visits, merchandising reviews, and retail audits to ensure compliance with company and client standards.
- Verify product placement, pricing, inventory levels, promotional signage, display execution, and overall department presentation.
- Identify merchandising opportunities and communicate recommendations to management.
- Complete store visit reports, retail audits, expense reports, and other required documentation accurately and on time.
- Maintain organized records of store visits, retailer contacts, follow-up activities, and field observations.
- Communicate product, retailer, or operational concerns promptly to management.
- Plan and manage daily travel schedules and mileage in accordance with company policies.
- Safely operate a personal vehicle while traveling between retail locations.
- Protect confidential company, client, and retailer information.
- Support special projects and additional assignments as needed.
- Be available for early morning start times based on customer and business needs.
- Provide support in other Texas markets on an occasional basis when business needs require.
Skills & Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Reliable personal transportation with current auto insurance.
- Must reside in or near the Greater Houston area.
- Ability to travel regularly throughout the assigned territory.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and mobile reporting applications.
- Experience in retail merchandising, grocery, produce, or field operations preferred.
- Customer service or retail experience preferred.
- Experience working in grocery or produce departments is a plus.
Work Environment:
- Field-based position with regular travel throughout the Greater Houston area and surrounding markets.
- Work is performed primarily inside grocery and retail stores.
- Frequent exposure to refrigerated produce departments.
- Early morning schedules are common to meet customer and business needs.
- Occasional overnight travel may be required.
