General Job Description:
Under the supervision of a professional surveyor, the technician will perform topographical survey duties including field and topographic survey, deed research and CAD drafting. Additional duties of engineering technician will be performed under the supervision of a professional engineer and will include performing manual or mechanical traffic counts, field traffic data collections and CAD drafting.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to
- Perform field data collection
- Travel to and from various project locations throughout the state (jobsite transportation provided by company vehicle)
- Data transfer and data reduction
- Equipment maintenance and procurement as needed
- Perform all other related duties as assigned

Position Working Conditions/Physical Demands
- Exposure to field conditions including traversing steep slopes in dense vegetation
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Ability to lift or move objects over 40 lbs
- Agility to bend, stoop, move in, out and around vehicle traffic lanes and roadway shoulders
- Close, distance, peripheral and depth perception vision
- Ability to recognize risk of electrical shock
Experience Needed
- 2-5 years experience
- Salary negotiable based on experience and skills
Licenses
- Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record
- Survey Technician certification preferred
