Job Overview
We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Tax Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing tax compliance and reporting, ensuring adherence to tax laws and regulations, and providing strategic tax planning advice. This role requires a strong understanding of various financial concepts and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while leading a team of tax professionals.Tax Engagement Oversight
- Manage the preparation and review of complex individual, corporate, partnership, and fiduciary tax returns.
- Oversee multiple tax engagements simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery, accuracy, and adherence to quality standards.
- Address complex tax issues, including tax planning for high-net-worth individuals, multi-state tax compliance, and corporate restructuring.
Client Relationship Management
- Act as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of clients, managing expectations and delivering exceptional service.
- Proactively identify client needs, offering tax planning strategies and solutions that align with their financial goals.
- Conduct client meetings to review financials, tax filings, and recommendations for tax-saving opportunities.
Team Leadership
- Supervise and mentor Tax Seniors and Tax Staff, fostering their professional development and technical expertise.
- Provide feedback and coaching to team members on technical issues, process improvements, and client relations.
- Lead training sessions and support continuous education efforts within the firm.
Technical Expertise and Research
- Research and resolve advanced tax issues, staying updated on federal, state, and local tax law changes.
- Develop and implement innovative tax strategies for clients, considering long-term implications.
- Serve as a technical resource for complex tax matters, including mergers, acquisitions, and international tax compliance.
Workflow and Process Management
- Plan and manage staff workloads during peak and off-peak seasons to optimize efficiency and balance.
- Monitor progress on engagements, ensuring deliverables meet deadlines and client expectations.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance accuracy and streamline operations.
Firm Development
- Contribute to business development by identifying opportunities for new services or client referrals.
- Participate in firm marketing efforts, including networking, seminars, and public speaking engagements.
- Collaborate with partners on strategic planning, goal setting, and firm initiatives.
