Duties
- Supervise and coordinate all kitchen activities, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation to meet quality standards.
- Manage inventory control by monitoring stock levels, ordering supplies, and minimizing waste through effective food management practices.
- Oversee food safety protocols to ensure compliance with health regulations and maintain a safe working environment.
- Train and develop kitchen staff on food handling, safety procedures, POS systems like Aloha POS and Micros POS, and culinary techniques.
- Handle cash transactions accurately using POS systems and oversee cash handling procedures during shifts.
- Lead shift management by organizing staff schedules, delegating tasks, and ensuring timely service during busy hours.
- Conduct staff interviews, performance evaluations, and provide ongoing training & development to foster team growth.
- Analyze profit and loss reports to optimize operational efficiency while maintaining high standards of hospitality and customer service.
Skills
- Extensive experience in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen management within casual dining or fine dining environments.
- Strong knowledge of POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for order processing and sales tracking.
- Proven leadership skills with experience managing hospitality teams, supervising staff, and training new employees.
- Excellent understanding of food safety management practices and health regulations across the food industry.
- Ability to handle inventory control efficiently while managing budgets and controlling costs.
- Background in managing restaurant operations including shift management, customer service, catering, banquet events, or hotel food services is highly desirable.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to motivate teams and ensure smooth collaboration among staff members.
