JOB
To provide administrative and technical support functions relating to the day-to-day processing, documenting, and monitoring of agency personnel.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
- Maintaining confidentiality as required.

Coordinates new department employee orientation.

Advertises department position openings; reviews all applications for employment and submits qualified applications to supervisors for selection; verifies credential of applicants / new employees.

Prepares all correspondence related to personnel actions.

Monitors the preparation of probationary, permanent and annual employee evaluations.

Distributes personnel information received from the County’s Personnel Office.

Serves as Notary Public.

Attends agency employee personnel conferences to take notes as necessary.

Attends training, meetings and seminars to stay abreast of legislation and trends in human resources administration.

Receives and responds to employee inquiries, concerns and complaints regarding personnel policies and procedures.

Performs general administrative / office work as required, including but not limited to preparing reports and correspondence, entering and retrieving computer data, establishing and maintaining files, copying and filing documents, attending meetings, answering the telephone, ordering office supplies, etc.

Gathers information for and prepares a variety of reports as required by the County and/or other agencies.

Operates a variety of equipment such as a computer, printer, fax machine, copier, calculator, telephone, etc.

Uses computer and clerical supplies.

Interacts and communicates with various groups and individuals such as the immediate supervisor, other County department/division heads and employees, retirees, sales representatives, various government agencies, and the general public.

Assists other administrative and clerical personnel as needed.

Performs related duties as required.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
High school diploma or GED supplemented by one to two years of experience in human resources administration or general administrative work, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Must possess Notary Public certification.
Special Requirements:
Valid North Carolina driver license
