The Imaging Center is seeking a Cardiac Sonographer for our expanding operations!
Our ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology. In addition to high attention to detail and high initiative, our team members provide compassionate and genuine care to our patients and providers to support needed imaging for care plan needs.
Essential Responsibilities
- Perform transthoracic echocardiography (TTE) examinations per Cardiologist and Radiologist protocols.
- Perform stress echocardiography studies, if applicable.
- Perform additional cardiac ultrasound studies as directed by the supervising physician.
- Position patients accurately and select appropriate transducers and parameters to achieve diagnostic cardiac image quality.
- Push images to PACS in the accepted electronic format for permanent patient record; assure proper patient identification is evident.
- Communicate significant or urgent findings to the supervising physician promptly.
Independent Operation & Patient Care
- Operate with full clinical autonomy and may float to multiple locations.
- Manage patient flow, exam scheduling adherence, and day-of operational issues independently.
- Provide professional and compassionate patient care; explain procedures clearly and address patient concerns.
- Communicate any equipment malfunctions or patient safety concerns to the Center Director promptly.
- Collaborate remotely with the supervising Cardiologist or Radiologist on image review and protocol questions as needed.
Safety, Quality & Compliance
- Maintain ultrasound equipment cleanliness and perform quality control checks on ultrasound systems.
- Follow established protocols required by the supervising Cardiologist and ACR standards.
- Adhere to infection control standards including transducer cleaning and patient contact protocols.
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality at all times.
- Participate in ACR accreditation activities as required.
- Monitor and manage modality-specific medical supply inventory; alert Center Director when supplies need to be reordered.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography or Cardiovascular Technology program required.
- RDCS (Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer) Certification required.
- Minimum 1 year of echocardiography experience required; 2+ years preferred.
- BLS/CPR certification required.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Proficiency in transthoracic echocardiography and cardiac ultrasound techniques required.
- Proficiency with GE ultrasound systems preferred.
- Comfortable operating independently without on-site peer support.
- Strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and sonographic technique.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds

Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.
Employee may be required to climb stairs as needed to access various areas of the building. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Overtime may be necessary as workload dictates. This may include weekdays, weekends, and/or holidays.

Pay: $36.50 - $42.00 per hour
