Primary Responsibilities:

Transportation:
- Operate vans and/or box trucks for the pickup and delivery of various event rental items, including tables, chairs, dishes, linens, and bars.
- Communication:
- Maintain effective communication with the WER sales team and designated client or venue contacts while on delivery jobs.
- Professional Appearance:
- Dress in a professional manner at all times, wearing assigned uniformed shirts, clean and hole-free pants, and maintaining neatly groomed facial hair and hair.
- On-Site Conduct:
- Maintain a professional demeanor while on job sites; refrain from inappropriate language, negative conversations, and smoking/vaping.
- Vehicle Maintenance:
- Ensure vehicles/trucks are clean and free of trash, with updated inspections and insurance paperwork in the glove box.
- Preparation and Loading:
- Assist in preparing equipment prior to loading and handle loading/unloading of event rental items from the warehouse to event venues, festivals, and homes.
- Assembly Tasks:
- Help assemble staging, dance floors, tables, chairs, linens, and other items as required for events.
- Flexible Scheduling:
- Maintain a flexible schedule, including availability for overnight, weekend, and extended hour shifts as needed.
- Safety Checks:
- Ensure that all items are checked-in on customer pick-ups and report any damaged or missing items to clients and management.
- Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate delivery and pickup records, secure customer signatures on contracts, and inform supervisors of any delivery difficulties.
- Return Procedures:
- Place returned rental items in designated areas for inspection, knowing the specifics of rental inventory to assist customers.
- Driver Responsibilities:
- Serve as a company representative while driving; carry a valid driver’s license, observe all traffic laws, and complete daily safety inspections on vehicles.

Keep vehicles clean and report any damages or mechanical issues to management, ensuring all vehicle inspection paperwork is completed and submitted daily.
- Other Duties:
- Fill in for other positions as necessary to ensure smooth operations; adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations; and attend departmental and safety meetings as requested.
- Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift approximately 70 lbs and maintain physical stamina for loading and unloading tasks.
- Professionalism:
- Must maintain a professional personal appearance and possess strong customer relation skills.
- Valid Driving Credentials:
- Must have a valid driver’s license and be familiar with local roads; ability to read a map is essential.
- Mathematical Skills:
- Basic math skills are necessary for problem-solving related to delivery and inventory tasks.
- Computer Knowledge:
- Computer familiarity is preferred; training on rental software will be provided.
- Communication:
- Must be able to speak English clearly and write legibly; the ability to speak additional languages is a plus.
- Pre-employment Requirements:
- Must pass a company drug screen if requested and maintain an acceptable attendance record.
- Interpersonal Skills:
- Ability to maintain cooperative working relationships with co-workers and demonstrate patience in interactions.
The Driver at WER is responsible for loading, unloading, and delivering equipment in full or partial loads while working closely with the dispatcher/delivery coordinator and delivery assistant. This position requires providing excellent customer service in a polite, friendly, and professional manner. The Driver may also assist customers with reservations, contracts, and inquiries as needed.
