Position Summary
The Project Engineer / Assistant Project Manager supports the planning, coordination, and execution of electrical construction projects. This role works closely with Project Managers, field teams, vendors, and clients to ensure projects run smoothly, safely, and efficiently. Responsibilities include document control, procurement support, cost tracking, scheduling assistance, and technical coordination.
This position is a key stepping stone toward full project management responsibility.
Key Responsibilities

Support project planning, scheduling, procurement, and cost control activities.

Assist with preparing, tracking, and processing RFIs, submittals, and other project documentation.

Review drawings, specifications, and coordination documents to ensure alignment with project requirements.

Maintain logs for RFIs, submittals, materials, equipment, and change orders.

Assist with material procurement, vendor coordination, and delivery tracking to ensure timely installation.

Support financial tracking including budgets, purchase orders, invoices, and subcontractor billings.

Participate in project meetings and document action items, progress updates, and coordination needs.

Work with field teams to resolve technical issues and support installation sequencing.

Assist with change order pricing, documentation, and communication.

Coordinate with design teams on design build and design assist projects.

Maintain strong communication with clients, contractors, vendors, and internal teams.

Support quality control, safety compliance, and adherence to project standards.

Manage multiple tasks in a fast paced, deadline driven environment.
Skills and Qualifications

Understanding of electrical construction, power distribution, and lighting systems.

Experience with estimating, procurement, scheduling, or project coordination is a plus.

Proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe, and Bluebeam.

Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across departments and with external partners.

Strong problem solving abilities and a proactive mindset.

Highly organized with strong documentation and follow through skills.

Strong analytical and research abilities.

Ability to support multiple projects simultaneously.
Education and Experience

High school diploma or GED required.

Degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred.

Experience in electrical construction as a Field Engineer, Project Coordinator, Estimator, or similar role is preferred but not required for strong candidates.
