We are looking for an experienced Business Office Float for our office in Mountainside, NJ.
General Purpose of Position: The Business Office Float is a versatile team member responsible for providing coverage and support throughout the business office. This position rotates between receptionist duties, surgical scheduling, insurance verification, and other administrative functions to ensure efficient daily operations and exceptional customer service. The Business Office Float must be flexible, organized, and detail oriented, and able to work collaboratively with physicians, staff, patients, ad visitors while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism at all times. There will be other office duties assigned as deemed necessary.
Primary Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
- Greet patients, vendors, physicians, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
- Management of phones to include answering, appointment scheduling, proper routing of calls and screening of patient requests.
- Collect co-pays and deductibles
- Check patients in and verify patient demographics and other pertinent information.
- Confirms that all charts are ready and have appropriate paperwork.
- Monitor waiting areas and communicate delays to patients when necessary.
- Performs other duties as needed to ensure the office operations run efficiently.
- Daily Tasks include, but are not limited to: confirming appointments, verify insurance, verify I.D. of each patient, pre-authorizations, medical record requests to be completed within 72 hours and infection control record keeping. Qualified candidates will be a back up to office Surgical Scheduler, Insurance Verification Specialist, and assist with mail and billing office duties as needed.

- Education, Skills and Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must have experience with working in a medical office, insurance verification and surgical scheduling.
- 1-2 years of experience in a health care environment / medical office.
- Prevents, calms, or defuses irate callers and/or patients by working with them to identify concerns and properly directs calls.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and organizational skills.
