WCS Healthcare is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join a well-established social services organization supporting a school serving children with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). Job Responsibilities
As a valued member of the healthcare team, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Provide triage, first aid, and nursing care to students with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Ensure compliance with all agency policies, professional nursing standards, and applicable OPWDD, OMH, and DOH regulations.
- Adhere to HIPAA and all patient confidentiality and privacy requirements.
- Collaborate effectively with families, school staff, interdisciplinary teams, and outside healthcare providers to coordinate patient care.
- Promote a safe, supportive, and healthy school environment for all students.
Minimum Qualifications
- Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience working with the OPWDD or I/DD population.
- Pediatric nursing experience required
- Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
