Duties
- Measure and interpret construction plans, schematics, and blueprints to accurately execute tile and flooring installations.
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, leveling, and applying necessary adhesives or underlayments for optimal flooring adhesion.
- Install diverse flooring types such as ceramic and porcelain tiles, vinyl planks, hardwood floors, epoxy coatings, and carpets with precision and attention to detail.
- Use hand tools and power tools safely to cut, shape, and secure building materials in accordance with project specifications.
- Perform floor refinishing tasks including buffing, sealing, caulking, and water damage restoration to ensure long-lasting results.
- Follow all building installation safety protocols to maintain a secure work environment on residential construction sites.
- Interpret technical drawings and schematics to ensure accurate installation aligned with client expectations and industry standards.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction estimating, building material installation, or related fields with a focus on flooring or tile laying.
- Proficiency in using hand tools such as trowels, saws, drills, caulking guns, and other essential equipment.
- Knowledge of epoxy floor installation, carpet installation, vinyl floor installation, hardwood floor installation, and floor refinishing techniques.
- Ability to read blueprints and interpret technical drawings accurately for precise project execution.
- Strong manual handling skills with the physical ability to lift heavy materials safely throughout the workday.
- Experience working on construction sites with adherence to safety regulations and building codes.
- Familiarity with restoration industry practices including water damage restoration and floor care maintenance.
- Additional skills such as cabinetry installation, trim carpentry, remodeling experience, construction painting, concrete finishing, buffing techniques, fixture installation, schematics interpretation, handyman skills, or construction site experience are considered valuable assets.
