Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Wind Turbine Superintendent to oversee the construction, logistics, installation, and commissioning of utility-scale wind turbine projects. This role is responsible for leading all on-site turbine activities while ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project schedules, quality standards, and client requirements.
The ideal candidate has extensive experience managing wind turbine installation projects, strong field leadership skills, and hands-on knowledge of turbine logistics, transportation coordination, and commissioning. Experience installing Vestas V136-4.5 MW turbines is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all on-site wind turbine construction, installation, and commissioning activities from delivery through mechanical completion.
- Supervise field crews, subcontractors, inspectors, transportation providers, crane operators, and turbine suppliers to ensure safe and efficient project execution.
- Coordinate daily work activities, manpower, equipment, and subcontractors to maintain project schedules and productivity.
- Manage turbine component deliveries, transportation logistics, staging areas, and inventory while minimizing delays and demurrage costs.
- Oversee major lifts, tower erection, nacelle installation, blade installation, torque and tension activities, mechanical completion, and commissioning support.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, company safety policies, project quality requirements, and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
- Review construction drawings, technical specifications, work packages, and project schedules to ensure accurate execution.
- Coordinate with Project Managers, Quality, HSE, Logistics, and Client representatives to resolve field issues and maintain project progress.
- Maintain daily reports, production tracking, quality documentation, and project records.
- Monitor Transportation Service Agreements (TSAs), delivery schedules, and material readiness to support uninterrupted turbine installation activities.
- Conduct routine site inspections to ensure workmanship meets project specifications and quality standards.
- Promote a strong safety culture and provide leadership, mentoring, and direction to field personnel.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience supervising utility-scale wind turbine installation projects.
- Proven experience managing the construction, logistics, installation, and commissioning of wind turbine generators.
- Hands-on experience installing Vestas V136-4.5 MW turbines strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of turbine erection methods, crane operations, mechanical completion, and commissioning support.
- Experience coordinating transportation providers, turbine suppliers, subcontractors, and field inspection teams.
- Familiarity with transportation logistics, demurrage management, Transportation Service Agreements (TSAs), and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, engineering specifications, and project schedules.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple field activities simultaneously.
- Strong understanding of OSHA regulations, construction safety practices, and quality control procedures.
- OSHA 30 certification preferred.
- Willingness to travel and work extended schedules on utility-scale renewable energy projects.

Pay: $48.00 - $50.00 per hour
