Our team is expanding, and we’re looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic R&D department.
Job Summary
We are seeking a talented Electrical Engineer to join our team in Foothill Ranch, CA. In this role, you will be responsible for systems engineering in both new product development and sustaining engineering activities. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to drive innovation in our laser systems and dental imaging products, ensuring we maintain our high standards of quality, reliability, and patient care.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong independent design capability and hands-on ownership of electrical hardware designs from concept through validation.
Responsibilities
Design and develop analog and digital circuits using Cadence OrCAD, Altium Designer, and PADS
Create schematics, PCB layouts, and bills of materials (BOMs)
Perform hardware validation, debugging, and board bring-up
Develop wireless systems using BLE, RF4CE, Zigbee, and Wi-Fi
Work with embedded interfaces such as I2C, I2S, SPI, and UART
Program and test 8-bit and 32-bit ARM microcontrollers
Operate lab equipment (oscilloscope, power analyzer, logic analyzer, etc.) for testing and troubleshooting
Write and maintain technical documentation including design specifications and validation protocols
Ensure compliance with FDA and medical device regulatory standards
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in analog and digital hardware design, development, and testing
Strong experience developing with 8-bit microcontrollers and ARM-based 32-bit microcontrollers
Proficient in industry-standard design tools including Cadence OrCAD, PADS, and Altium Designer
Practical experience working with solid-state and diode laser systems
Strong understanding of wireless communication protocols such as BLE, RF4CE, Zigbee, and Wi-Fi
Solid knowledge of embedded communication interfaces including I2C, I2S, SPI, and UART
Strong experience with capacitor-charge high-voltage power supplies
Hands-on experience with high-power diode laser driver design and testing
Excellent technical documentation and verbal communication skills
Self-starter with the ability to work independently, manage projects, and meet deadlines
Experience with medical device design and regulatory environments is a plus
Please note: This role requires flexibility and availability to work additional hours based on company needs, as well as the ability to travel to the Corona location up to 10% of the time for company needs or team meetings.
