Bartender
The Brick Tavern | Downtown Hagerstown
The Brick Tavern is one of downtown Hagerstown’s newest tavern destinations, known for craft cocktails, cold beers, and a lively atmosphere. We are building a high-energy bar team and looking for Bartenders who thrive in a fast-paced environment and take pride in delivering great drinks and memorable guest experiences.
As a bartender, you will be at the center of the action, creating drinks, engaging with guests, and helping set the tone for the entire bar experience.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to recipes and quality standards
- Provide friendly, engaging service to guests seated at the bar and throughout the dining room
- Take accurate orders and process payments using the POS system
- Maintain bar stock, prep garnishes, and ensure all supplies are ready for service
- Keep the bar clean, organized, and compliant with health and safety standards
- Check identification to verify legal drinking age when required
- Monitor guest behavior and practice responsible alcohol service
- Collaborate with servers, kitchen staff, and management to ensure smooth service
- Assist with inventory tracking and restocking during shifts
Qualifications
- Previous bartending experience in a restaurant, tavern, or bar setting preferred
- Strong knowledge of beer, wine, and classic cocktails
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
- Experience using POS systems such as Toast is a plus
- Strong time management and attention to detail
- Positive, team-oriented attitude
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Maryland Alcohol Awareness Certification required prior to starting (assistance available if needed)
