Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Laboratory Technician specialized in PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) techniques to join our dynamic research team. Responsibilities
- Prepare and execute PCR assays with accuracy, following established protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Maintain and calibrate laboratory instruments such as thermal cyclers, pipettes, centrifuges, and spectrophotometers to ensure optimal performance.
- Conduct sample collection, processing, and analysis while adhering to sterile laboratory techniques and chemical handling safety procedures.
- Record detailed laboratory data, observations, and results meticulously in laboratory information management systems (LIMS) or electronic lab notebooks.
- Support quality control measures by verifying assay reproducibility, troubleshooting technical issues, and implementing improvements.
- Assist with microbiology, histology, or cell culture procedures as needed to support research projects.
- Ensure compliance with GLP (Good Laboratory Practice), CGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practice), FDA regulations, and other relevant standards for laboratory operations.
Requirements
- Proven experience working in an industrial or clinical laboratory environment with familiarity in molecular biology techniques such as PCR, qPCR, gel electrophoresis, and DNA/RNA extraction.
- Strong understanding of laboratory safety protocols including sterile techniques and chemical handling procedures.
- Knowledge of microbiology, histology, cell culture methods, and laboratory instruments used in molecular biology research.
- Ability to maintain accurate laboratory records and documentation in accordance with SOPs and regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for data analysis and reporting purposes.
- Excellent analysis skills with attention to detail to ensure high-quality results consistently.
- Prior experience working within a research or development setting is preferred; industrial laboratory experience is highly valued.
- Familiarity with laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and scientific research methodologies is advantageous.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
