Job Summary

Responsibilities
- Assist lead teachers in implementing curriculum plans aligned with developmental milestones and individual student needs
- Support classroom management by encouraging positive behavior and facilitating a safe, respectful environment for children
- Work closely with students with disabilities, including those with autism or developmental disabilities, to promote inclusion and active participation in activities
- Use effective communication skills, including American Sign Language when appropriate, to enhance understanding and engagement among students
- Help prepare instructional materials and adapt lesson plans for students with diverse learning styles and needs
- Monitor student progress through observations and documentation, contributing to Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and progress reports
- Support early childhood education practices such as literacy education, math activities, Montessori methods, and preschool routines
Experience
- Prior experience working with children in classroom or childcare settings is highly preferred
- Knowledge of special education strategies, including behavior management and curriculum development for students with disabilities
- Familiarity with working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities is a strong asset
- Experience in early childhood education or preschool environments, including toddler care or Montessori settings
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and specialists
- Classroom experience that demonstrates effective classroom management techniques and lesson planning skills
- Private school experience or similar educational environments is a plus
