Ginza is a family-owned Japanese restaurant in Severna Park, MD. We're committed to serving authentic, high-quality dishes in a welcoming environment. We're looking for a skilled line cook to own our tempura station and help us maintain the quality our guests expect.
What You'll Do
- Prepare and execute tempura dishes to order with consistency and precision
- Maintain proper oil temperature, batter consistency, and frying technique throughout service
- Prep ingredients daily including vegetables, seafood, and proteins
- Keep your station clean, organized, and fully stocked at all times
- Follow food safety and sanitation standards
- Communicate effectively with front-of-house staff and kitchen team during service
- Assist with other line stations as needed during slower periods
- Assist with opening and closing kitchen duties
What We're Looking For
- Prior line cook experience required (at least 1–2 years)
- Experience with Japanese cuisine or tempura preparation strongly preferred
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Strong knife skills and general cooking fundamentals
- Knowledge of food safety standards (ServSafe certification a plus)
- Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player
- Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Compensation
- $16–$22/hr depending on experience
