Lucky Dove Home Care is seeking an experienced, compassionate, and dependable caregiver for a unique opportunity in West Ashley. This position offers the opportunity to earn an average of over $32 per hour through a combination of your scheduled hours with Lucky Dove Home Care and an optional private agreement directly with the client's family.
Please Note: The Lucky Dove Home Care position pays $18.00 per hour. The additional compensation is offered privately by the client's family and is completely separate from Lucky Dove Home Care. Participation in the private arrangement is entirely optional.
Lucky Dove Home Care Position
- Pay: $18.00/hour
- Schedule: Monday-Friday
- Shift Length: 3 hours per day
- Shift Time: Mid to late afternoon
- Location: West Ashley
Duties May Include:
- Personal care assistance
- Bathing and grooming assistance
- Dressing assistance
- Meal preparation
- Medication reminders (non-medical)
- Light housekeeping
- Laundry and linen changes
- Companionship and conversation
- Mobility and transfer assistance
- Assistance with walking and fall prevention
- Documentation of care provided
Optional Private Opportunity with the Family
The client's family is also looking for someone willing to assist the client's spouse, who has dementia. This arrangement is strictly between you and the family and is not associated with Lucky Dove Home Care.
The spouse can occasionally be challenging during personal care, particularly when assisting with bathing and getting washed up. We want applicants to understand this upfront so they can determine whether this opportunity is a good fit.
Private Compensation Offered by the Family
- An additional $30 per day for assisting the spouse with dementia.
- An additional $125 every two weeks for providing housekeeping during your scheduled visits.
When combined with your Lucky Dove wages, this opportunity averages a little over $32 per hour.
We're Looking For Someone Who Is:
- Compassionate and patient
- Comfortable working with individuals living with dementia
- Dependable and punctual
- Professional with excellent communication skills
- Able to provide respectful personal care
- Comfortable performing housekeeping duties
- Physically capable of assisting with mobility and transfers when needed
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of professional caregiving experience (home care, assisted living, nursing home, or similar setting)
- Reliable transportation
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to pass a criminal background check
- Authorized to work in the United States
