Duties
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments by monitoring vital signs, conducting physical examinations, and evaluating physiological responses using your strong anatomy and physiology knowledge.
- Administer medications and injections accurately while adhering to HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards.
- Assist with specialized procedures such as IV infusion, catheterization, tube feeding, wound suturing, and sterile processing techniques.
- Manage patient care plans by coordinating with multidisciplinary teams for discharge planning, case management, and post-acute care.
- Provide emergency response support including airway management, ventilator operation, and acute pain management in high-pressure environments like ICU or emergency room settings.
- Document all patient interactions meticulously using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic or Cerner; ensure compliance with ICD coding standards like ICD-9 and ICD-10 for accurate medical records.
- Support infection control protocols and maintain aseptic techniques during clinical procedures to prevent cross-contamination.
- Work with diverse populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, individuals with disabilities or developmental delays, and those requiring hospice or memory care services.
Experience
- Valid LVN license with current state licensure required; additional certifications such as Basic Life Support (BLS) are essential.
- Proven experience working in various healthcare environments including hospitals (Level I Trauma Center or Level II Trauma Center preferred), nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home health settings.
- Demonstrated expertise in critical care areas such as ICU, emergency medicine, medical-surgical units, or pediatric intensive care units (PICU).
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks; experience with medical imaging or diagnostic evaluation is a plus.
- Prior experience working with individuals with complex health conditions such as dementia/dementia care or infectious diseases enhances your ability to deliver specialized patient-centered care.
- Knowledge of ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding for procedures like dermal fillers or botulinum toxin treatments is advantageous.
