Job Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Full Charge Bookkeeper to manage comprehensive accounting functions for our organization. This pivotal role involves overseeing all aspects of bookkeeping, ensuring accurate financial records, and maintaining compliance with accounting standards. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in corporate and non-profit accounting, proficiency with various accounting software, and a passion for precision. As a key member of our finance team, you will drive the integrity of financial data, support budgeting processes, and prepare essential financial reports to inform strategic decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Manage the full cycle of bookkeeping including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing.
- Perform general ledger accounting and ensure accurate journal entries are recorded in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Reconcile bank statements, credit card accounts, and other balance sheet accounts regularly to maintain data accuracy.
- Conduct monthly balance sheet reconciliation and general ledger reconciliation to ensure completeness and correctness of financial data.
- Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms to record transactions and generate financial reports.
- Prepare detailed financial reports including income statements, cash flow statements, and budget variance analyses.
- Maintain compliance with governmental accounting standards and manage tax-related filings when applicable.
- Analyze accounts for discrepancies or irregularities through account analysis and account reconciliation procedures.
- Assist with budgeting processes by providing accurate financial data and forecasts.
- Support year-end closing activities and audit preparations by organizing documentation and ensuring all records are up-to-date.
Experience
- Proven experience as a full charge bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role within corporate or non-profit environments.
- Extensive knowledge of accounting principles such as GAAP, double-entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, and journal entries.
- Proficiency with multiple accounting software platforms including QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Quicken, and other financial management tools.
- Strong understanding of governmental accounting standards if applicable to your organization’s operations.
- Experience with bank reconciliation, account reconciliation, general ledger management, and financial report writing.
- Familiarity with payroll processing systems and tax compliance requirements.
- Ability to perform 10-key typing efficiently for data entry tasks.
- Excellent analytical skills combined with attention to detail for accurate account analysis and account reconciliation tasks.
- Prior experience in public accounting or technical accounting is advantageous but not mandatory. Pay: $24.48 - $29.48 per hour
