Nurse Practitioner (NP) – Neurology
Overview
We are seeking a compassionate, motivated, and detail-oriented Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our growing private neurology practice. The Nurse Practitioner will work collaboratively with our neurologist to provide comprehensive care for patients with a variety of neurological disorders, including headaches, neuropathy, epilepsy, dementia, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, and other neurological conditions.

Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient evaluations, including medical histories and physical examinations.
- Diagnose, treat, and manage acute and chronic neurological conditions under established protocols and collaborative practice guidelines.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Order, interpret, and review diagnostic tests, laboratory studies, and imaging.
- Prescribe medications and therapies in accordance with state regulations.
- Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and disease management.
- Document patient encounters accurately and timely within the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Coordinate care with physicians, specialists, hospitals, and ancillary healthcare providers.
- Review test results and communicate findings to patients.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with HIPAA and clinical standards.
Qualifications
- Current Nurse Practitioner license in the State of New York.
- Master's or Doctorate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
- Board Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner (AGNP), or Adult Nurse Practitioner (ANP).
- Current DEA registration and prescriptive authority.
- BLS certification required.
- Minimum of 1–2 years of clinical experience preferred.
- Neurology experience preferred but willing to train the right candidate.
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Proficiency with EMR systems
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) required
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing patients with neurological disorders.
- Familiarity with EMR documentation and specialty practice workflows.
- Must be able to commute to an office inYonkers
