Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Roofer Subcontractor (1099) to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining various roofing systems on residential, commercial, and industrial projects. Your expertise will ensure that roofing projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards. This position offers the opportunity to work outdoors on diverse projects, utilizing your skills in roofing and related construction trades to deliver exceptional results.
Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and replace roofing systems including single-ply membrane roofing, metal roofing, and other materials according to project specifications and safety standards
- Interpret technical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and construction plans to accurately execute roofing projects
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively for cutting, fastening, sealing, and finishing roofing components
- Ensure all work complies with construction safety regulations, including the proper use of safety harnesses, ladder safety protocols, and fall protection measures
- Perform siding installation, stucco application, caulking, trim carpentry, masonry work, and other related exterior finishing tasks as needed
- Conduct heavy lifting of materials and equipment while following proper ergonomic practices
- Collaborate with project managers and other tradespeople to coordinate work sequences and ensure adherence to project timelines
Requirements
- Proven experience in roofing installation and repair with a strong understanding of roofing materials such as single-ply membranes and metal roofing systems
- Knowledge of construction estimating processes and ability to interpret construction plans and schematics
- Familiarity with construction workplace safety regulations including the use of safety harnesses, ladder use, heavy lifting techniques, and general site safety protocols
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, fabrication equipment, and masonry or tile laying tools as applicable
- Experience working outdoors in various weather conditions on construction sites with a focus on safety protocol adherence
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately for precise project execution
- Additional skills such as framing carpentry, drywall installation (including metal stud framing), plumbing integration, welding, restoration work or handyman experience are a plus
- Strong physical stamina for outdoor work environments involving heavy lifting and prolonged standing or climbing
