Position Overview
In this role, you will work closely with our Broker/Owner and our dedicated office managers to maintain accurate financial records and support our daily property management operations. You will manage real estate trust accounting, general ledger maintenance, and utilize industry-specific software to keep our financial systems running seamlessly.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Recordkeeping: Maintain accurate, up-to-date financial records for both the brokerage and our managed properties.
- Accounts Payable & Receivable: Process owner distributions, vendor payments, tenant rent receipts, and security deposits.
- Reconciliations: Perform monthly bank reconciliations and manage end-of-month closing procedures.
- Reporting: Prepare clear, accurate, and timely monthly financial statements for property owners.
- Team Collaboration: Coordinate with our leasing and management teams to resolve billing discrepancies, tenant ledger questions, and vendor inquiries.
Qualifications & Skills
We are looking for a focused team player who is detail-oriented and organized. The ideal candidate will meet our preferred criteria:
1) Education & Experience: A College Degree (Associate's or Bachelor's) in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field OR equivalent practical bookkeeping experience.
2) Software Skills:
- Prior experience or proficiency with QuickBooks is highly preferred.
- Experience with AppFolio (or property management software) is a major plus.
3) Key Traits:
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and professional email/phone etiquette.
- Ability to handle confidential financial data with absolute integrity.
