Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and safety-conscious Offshore Barge Rigger to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely rigging, lifting, and securing heavy equipment and materials on offshore barges to support construction, maintenance, and operational activities. Your expertise in rigging procedures, heavy equipment operation, and adherence to safety standards will ensure efficient project execution in challenging offshore environments. Duties
- Safely rig, lift, and secure heavy materials and equipment using cranes, hydraulics, and other lifting devices on offshore barges
- Operate overhead cranes, boom trucks, forklifts, backhoes, excavators, and other heavy machinery following strict safety protocols
- Inspect rigging gear, lifting devices, and equipment regularly to ensure proper functioning and compliance with safety regulations
- Coordinate with crane operators and construction teams to plan lifts and execute tasks efficiently while maintaining safety standards
- Handle materials during shipping & receiving activities, ensuring proper storage and transportation on the barge
- Follow OSHA safety standards and construction workplace safety regulations at all times during operations
- Maintain detailed records of rigging activities, inspections, and equipment usage for accountability and compliance
Experience
- Proven experience working in construction environments with offshore or marine settings preferred
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to rigging hardware, hydraulics, cranes, forklifts, boom trucks, excavators, backhoes, and other heavy equipment
- Demonstrated ability to operate overhead cranes safely and efficiently in accordance with OSHA safety standards
- Familiarity with construction site safety regulations and materials handling procedures in a maritime or offshore context
- Prior experience in shipping & receiving operations within a warehouse or construction setting is advantageous
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) or equivalent for operating heavy vehicles such as forklifts or trucks preferred
- Knowledge of construction workplace safety regulations including OSHA standards is essential for success in this role
