PURPOSE
The Dean of Students serves as an administrator at an assigned elementary school , handling duties including school safety, behavior, MTSS, and other duties as assigned by the principal.
IMPORTANT DETAILS
- Work Schedule: 204 days
- Work Hours: Monday-Friday between the hours of 7:00-4:00. Hours will vary based on building needs and exempt status.
MINIMUM QUALIFACTIONS
- Three years of teaching experience with some elementary experience preferred.
- Must possess a valid Indiana Building Level Administrator certification.
- Knowledge and experience in implementing best practices in academics and behavior.
- Must have strong planning, administrative, supervisory, analytical, computer, organizational, accountability, and oral and written communication skills.
Must be able to legally operate a motor vehicle.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Student Focus
- Coordinate student behavior functions at the assigned school site.
- Oversee and assist with student supervision, expulsions, and manifestation determinations.
- Review, analyze and implement student management plans in response to student discipline data.
- Assist faculty and staff with interpreting student discipline data and developing and implementing classroom management strategies.
Staff Supervision & Development
- Lead the behavior side of MTSS including Tier I through Tier III supports. This includes leading the team of Security, Student Advocate, Administrative Assistant, Licensed Therapist, Case Manager, and SST Coordinator with guidance and direction from the building Principal.
- Hire Supervise and Plan Professional Learning and evaluate the performance of assigned personnel as described above.
Accountability & Compliance
- Maintain current knowledge of educational methods, practices and standards related to school operations and related laws, codes, regulations, policies and procedures
- Assist in modifying programs and services to assure compliance with standards and requirements as needed.
Support the special education programming and PAR Case Conferences as assigned by the principal.

Perform related duties as assigned by the Principal to meet the particular needs of the building/unit.
